Due to the comments on the first version of this illustration regarding what looked like wings but not intentionally, (Explanation in the first post) I did add wings to this version so I can satisfy the viewers and my curiosity of how the character would look. I think the result is quite pleasing.
This image is a character design, which I created for my new book. It is also my first trial on using Painter in conjunction with Photo Paint, which is the main software I have been using. I also submitted the original version for the EXPOSE book. It took approximately 9 hours to create.
I have been a professional illustrator and fantasy painter for about fourteen years using traditional media. In the past few years I started incorporating digital illustrations in my portfolio.
