I wanted to create a somewhat disturbing image, but something that also brings a smile an your face. With her gesture and with the elements in the background I tried to tell her story,her dream of being a ballerina. I modelled her base mesh in 3ds Max ,when ready the mesh was exported to Zbrush where it was subdivided, sculpted and posed. I have hand painted the textures in Zbrush and Photoshop with the help of Zapplink. The finished model was then reimported in 3ds Max where I used a SSS skin material with the colour, bump,specular, cavity and displacement maps exported from Zbrush. The fabric for her skirt, and all other fabrics were simulated in Max. I have painted the textures for the background elements in Photoshop. The image was rendered in 3ds Max with Mental Ray, by using 3 photometric lights and final gather. I have than composited the render elements in photoshop.
