I'm a newcomer to these parts as a poster, but have long been an admirer of the many amazing artists whose work on these discussion boards has never ceased to inspire or amaze.

I present to you the Clown Prince of Crime himself, under lockdown at Arkham. The base mesh was created by following the modeling conventions described by Taron in his awesome Gnomon DVD tutorial “Secrets of Organic Modeling.” The details and expression were sculpted in Zbrush. I saved out from Zbrush: depth, diffuse, specular, and translucency maps and used Taron’s nifty plugin for After Effects, ZbornToy, for the rendering which gave me tremendous results. A few post effects were then added using Photoshop.

This was my first CG model and my veritable foot in the door of the CG industry. For the better part of a year, I have been working as a digital artist in a studio in New York. This image represents months of intense study and progress under the guidance of the astoundingly talented artist and altruist, Yariv Newman, without whom I wouldn't know the difference between a depth map and a ztool.
