This was my project for trying to get proficient with SSS but as always, it uncovered endless other topics that I got to thoroughly explore!
I really wanted the end product to be more painterly with an illustrated feel to it. I also paid great attention to textures this time, trying to diverge from that 'too clean' look that I've been guilty of in the past. In doing all this, I took great inspiration from Pascal Blanche but I built in much of myself as well. I hope you can tell.
Everything but the water is 3D and then the post and the water and such was all done in Photoshop.
As soon as this gets to the stills gallery, I'll post a bunch of textures, a WIP series, and a wireframe.
Also for this project, I used a lot of Roadkill, the free UV unwrapper (but it's not shown below). Maybe it should be added to the list. Hint Hint. ;)
