These two characters were made for a wildlife documentary and I posed them to render this still. This was originally posted in the WIP forum (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=308563), and I've now just finished this scene.
The Lizard is "Japalura polygonata xanthostoma", a species found only in Taiwan; the spider is "Thomisus labefactus" and the plant is "Alpinia speciosa", all are common in Taiwan.
I tried using the simplest approach to make this scene. All models were made with Maya 7.0, which was also used to create the fur; all textures were hand painted in Photoshop 7.0. The background is a photo.
