..As we stared, the serpents’ movements became more and more frenzied, the water foaming as they forced their way towards its surface. Soon the ship was rocking violently from side to side. They seemed to be growing – and then I saw their jaws. Full of fangs their snapping snouts shot out of the water, gasping for the air above the seething sea...
