I wanted to make a really bright, richly colourful image that popped off the screen - in the 1980's I was always influenced by magazine adverts and box art for games - you know the type, the ones that persuaded you that the 8-bit monochrome sprites jerking across the screen going "Blonk, Blonk" were really fire-breathing dragons ridden by bejewelled heroines.
