As a lifetime ALIEN and of course H. R. Giger fan, I spent some freetime to create these CG pieces as a tribute to Ridley Scott s SiFi masterpiece.
I tried to be as close to the movie original as possible and at the same time avoid the classical man in a rubber suit look.
The standing base I added recently to finish this project up and it should be a tiny homage towards the artists Ron Cobb and Chris Foss. They created the perfect counterpart with the man made designs of the Nostromo spaceship in opposition to Giger s biomechanical world.
All modeled in XSI, detailed, some polypainting and texture generation in ZBrush, texture refinement in Photoshop, rendered inside XSI with Mental Ray and post composed in NUKE.
